Our organization believes that the welfare of the children and young people who attend our services is paramount. Our guiding principles are underpinned by Children First: National Child Protection and Welfare Guidance, Child Protection Tusla: Policy, Procedure and Practice Guide, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and existing legislation such as Children First for Children. The Child Care Act 2015, the Child Care Act 1991, the Protections for Persons Reporting Child Abuse Act 1998 and the National Bureau of Investigation Act 2012. Our guiding principles apply to all paid staff, volunteers, committee members/ boards and students on work placement within our organisation.

All committee/board members, staff, volunteers and students must sign up to and adhere to these guidelines and our child protection procedures. We will review our child protection guidelines and procedures every two years or sooner if necessary due to service issues or changes in national legislation or policy.
